Terms & Conditions - Tuning

CSC Motors

The terms and conditions below will bind all tuning bookings made with CSC Motors. If you are hiring our dyno, please refer our dyno disclaimer.

By making a booking, we presume you have read and understood the terms and conditions.

1. Vehicle Condition and Remap Responsibility: It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the vehicle is in good working order and free from underlying faults prior to a remap. CSC Motors does not represent or warrant that remapping will not cause damage to your vehicle if underlying issues or poor maintenance exist.
   A basic vehicle health check will be conducted prior to any remap. However, this check may not identify all potential issues.
   • If, during the health check, we identify any concerns that may increase the risk of damage due to remapping, we will advise you accordingly.
   • If you choose to proceed with the remap despite these concerns, you do so entirely at your own risk.
   • If the vehicle fails the health check and you choose not to proceed with the remap, a labour charge may be applicable for the time spent on the assessment.
2. CSC Motors accepts no liability for any damage caused, directly or indirectly, to your vehicle, or any financial loss or expenses incurred in connection with your use of our services. This includes, but is not limited to, damage caused by pre-existing vehicle faults, poor maintenance, or the failure of any serviceable item, mechanical part (including turbos), or electrical components. We do not accept responsibility for any claims for labour or parts under any circumstances.
   Please note: Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, as further addressed in Clause 1
3. The Client acknowledges and understands that the process of remapping a vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU) carries inherent and unavoidable risks. These risks include, but are not limited to, the possibility of the ECU becoming corrupted, malfunctioning, or becoming inoperable during the software writing or modification process. The Client explicitly agrees that this risk is a known and accepted part of the remapping service.
   In the event that a vehicle's ECU becomes corrupted, damaged, or inoperable for any reason directly or indirectly related to the remapping process, CSC Motors shall not be held liable for any loss, damage, or costs incurred by the Client. CSC Motors is expressly not responsible for:
   • The cost of repairing or replacing the damaged ECU.
   • Any consequential losses, including but not limited to loss of use of the vehicle.
   • The provision of a courtesy car, loan vehicle, or any other form of alternative transport.
   • Any costs associated with towing, recovery, or transport of the vehicle to another location.
   
   CSC Motors takes no responsibility for the loss of any other vehicle data while carrying out a remap.
4. All work carried out will be based on the customer's specific requests. Any advice we offer is purely for your information and is not legally binding.
5. It is your responsibility to inform your insurance company of the remap. We strongly advise you to do so prior to having the remap carried out and prior to driving the vehicle away from our premises following the remap. CSC Motors accepts no liability for any issues arising from failure to inform your insurer.
6. All payments are to be made in full immediately by card, cash, PayPal, Payment Assist, or bank transfer before the vehicle is removed from the care of CSC Motors
7. IIf you are dissatisfied with the tuning services provided by CSC Motors or the performance of our remap, you may be eligible for a refund subject to the following conditions:
   • A refund of the remap cost, minus a £100 administration and reinstallation fee, will be considered within 7 days of the initial remap.
   • To be eligible for a refund, the vehicle must be returned to us so that the remap can be removed and the vehicle returned to its pre-remap state.
   • We cannot guarantee that we are able to return the vehicle to its original factory settings, as this may not always be possible depending on the vehicle's ECU and the extent of the modifications carried out.
   • After 7 days, no refunds will be issued. A fee may be charged to return the vehicle to its pre-remap state.
8. Any software tweaks required in relation to the initial remap will be provided free of charge within 7 days of your original booking. After this period, charges apply.
9. CSC Motors reserves the right to cancel or postpone any booked remap for any reason, including exceptional circumstances such as extreme weather conditions. We will only exercise this right where necessary. In the event that we cancel your booking, any deposit paid will be refunded in full.
10. CSC Motors may take a deposit payment via our booking platform to secure your appointment. In the event of a late cancellation (72 hours or less notice) or a no-show, we reserve the right to retain the deposit as payment for our time. The deposit amount will be made clear at the time of booking.
    Please note: CSC Motors does not have access to any card details you provide through the booking platform. Payment details are stored securely by our third-party payment providers, PayPal and Square.
11. Notwithstanding any other clause in these Terms and Conditions, CSC Motors does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Nothing in these terms shall operate to limit or exclude such liability, as required by applicable law including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
12. CSC Motors may take photographs or video footage of your vehicle for use in marketing and advertising materials. If you do not wish us to do this, please inform us before your appointment. We cover all number plates as standard when publishing any vehicle imagery.
13. CSC Motors may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms and Conditions to another organisation. We will always notify you in writing if this happens. Such a transfer will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Terms and Conditions.
14. Discounts provided by CSC Motors, including those arranged through a local car club, cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion. Only one discount is applicable per booking.
15. Vouchers:
    • All vouchers must be redeemed before their expiry date. Once an expiry date has passed, the voucher will be marked as redeemed and will no longer hold any value.
    • Please ensure all vouchers are presented on the day of your booking. If a voucher is not presented on the day, the full balance will be charged.
    • All CSC Motors vouchers have a nominal cash value of £0.01.
    • CSC Motors vouchers may be transferred to another person only if agreed in writing with CSC Motors.
16. Virtual Read Considerations: In some cases, a "Virtual Read" of the ECU software may be necessary, where a copy of the software is obtained from a server rather than directly from the vehicle's ECU.
    Important: Where a Virtual Read is required and your vehicle has already been modified or tuned prior to our work, you may not experience a noticeable difference in power output. We will advise you of this possibility before proceeding where it is known or suspected. In such instances, no refunds will be issued and full payment will remain due.
17. If you choose to use remapping as an attempt to resolve an existing fault with your vehicle, we are happy to assist. However, regardless of the outcome, our time and service remain chargeable. For example, if your vehicle is in limp mode and you suspect the EGR valve is at fault, we will perform an EGR delete — however, if this does not resolve the issue, our full charge will still apply.
18. Faulty Vehicle: If your vehicle is diagnosed as faulty after our initial cooling-off period, we are able to uninstall our remap software. However, no refund will be given in these circumstances. We can reinstall the remap once the underlying fault has been repaired. Depending on the time required, a charge may apply for the reinstallation.
19. Custom Tuning Package: Our Custom Tuning package includes up to 5 hours of tuning time with our expert technician. For tuning sessions exceeding 5 hours, an additional hourly rate will apply:
    • Road tuning: £80 per hour
    • Dyno tuning: £100 per hour
20. Lifetime Software Warranty: CSC Motors offers a lifetime software warranty for the initial remap installation. This warranty covers the reinstallation of the remap software in the event of corruption or deletion from the vehicle's control unit.
    • This warranty is valid only for the original registered owner of the vehicle and is not transferable upon sale or change of ownership.
    • A 1-hour labour charge will apply for each reinstallation carried out under this warranty, whether it is the first or second claim.
    • This warranty is limited to a maximum of 2 claims in total. Once 2 claims have been made, the warranty will be considered fully redeemed and will no longer be valid.
    • This warranty applies to the same software version as originally installed. Reinstallation of the same version is covered subject to the labour charge above.
    • If a new or updated software version has be installed, the warranty will not cover this. A full remap charge will apply, with a 30% loyalty discount applied to the cost of the new software version as a goodwill gesture.
21. CSC Motors collects and processes personal data — including your name, contact details, and vehicle information — in order to provide our services. We are committed to handling your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
    We will not sell or share your personal data with third parties except where necessary to deliver our services (for example, our booking and payment platform providers). For full details of how we collect, use, and store your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy, available at www.cscmotors.com/privacy-policy.
22. CSC Motors may amend these Terms and Conditions periodically. The most current version will always be available on our website at www.cscmotors.com/terms-and-conditions. Your continued use of our services following any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
